The Ashlawn Group was formed in 2000 by founder Norma Byron, President. We focus on fuel cells for munitions, we also have worked in the areas of nanomaterials, powder metals, transitioning R&D projects into pilot production, manufacturing technologies, and process improvements. Smart, precision-guided munitions have proven their effectiveness of the battlefield as demonstrated in the Persian Gulf and Afghanistan to effectively neutralize opponents quickly with fewer munitions fired, while the improved accuracy has saved the lives of U.S. and allied military personnel and has limited unnecessary collateral damage to civilian populations. As a result of these well-demonstrated successful military outcomes, the armed services (all branches) are moving as quickly as possible to convert as many as possible of their existing munitions into “smart” munitions, including artillery, mortar, ship-fired guns, bombs, rockets, shoulder-fired missiles and platform-based missile systems (fired from ships, vehicles, and aircraft). Today’s modern munitions typically incorporate Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and state-of-the-art inertial navigation systems to employ satellite technology to guide the munitions. Munitions developers address flight dynamics, instrumentation and flight control of each specific system. Ashlawn’s fuel cell power supplies provide the electrical power to meet requirements of today’s smart munitions. For more information, please contact us. |
